Luke Cage is a Marvel Comics character adapted for the Netflix television series of the same name, appearing first in the show Luke Cage in 2016.

Originally Carl Lucas, he was framed for a crime and incarcerated at Seagate Prison. While imprisoned, he volunteered for an experimental procedure led by Dr. Noah Burstein, hoping to reduce his sentence. This procedure, intended to grant accelerated healing, instead gave him superhuman strength and unbreakable skin due to sabotage.

Escaping prison, he adopted the name Luke Cage and became a hero for hire in Harlem. Known for his quiet demeanor and unwavering commitment to justice, Cage uses his powers to protect his community from various threats. He also appears in The Defenders miniseries, uniting with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
